William F. Parks, Jr.

William Franklin Parks, Jr., 83, husband of the late Janet Linton Parks and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Belle Haven, he was the son of the late William F. and Ava Shockley Parks. Mr. Parks was a retired electrical supervisor for N.A.S.A. Wallops Flight Facility, a member of the Belle Haven United Methodist Church for many years and recently was a member of the Colonial Baptist Church. Survivors include two children, Williams F. Parks, III and his wife Debby of Marshall, MI and Cheryl P. Ligon and her husband Charles "Butch" of Wake Forest, NC; a sister, Betty P. Marshall of East Palatka, FL; four grandchildren, Jennifer Farlow, William Parks Ligon, Elizabeth Tyler Ligon and Charles Bryant Ligon; two great grandchildren, Christopher and Kaila Farlow; a niece and nephew, Betty Carol Carter and Robert C. Marshall, both of East Palatka, FL and a grandson in-law, Lane E. Farlow of Quinby. Graveside services will be conducted at the Belle Haven Cemetery, Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt and Dr. Charles Ligon officiating. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Colonial Baptist Church, 17353 Main Street, Painter, Virginia 23420.
