William Shields Harris, Sr.

Mr. William Shields Harris, Sr., 70, husband of the late Betty White Harris and a resident of Cape Charles, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Oakland Park, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Harris and the late Marie Scott Harris. Mr. Harris retired as a brakeman with Conrail Railroad and was a member of Cheriton Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, William S. Harris, II and his wife Diana of Machipongo, VA; two brothers, Robert Scott Harris and his wife Margaret Ann of Painter, VA, and Freddie Harris and his wife Jean of Exmore, Va.; three step grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren. Rebel, his fourteen year old beloved dog and loyal companion, will be buried with him. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the graveside of the Onancock Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Goodrich officiating.
