William Allen Carpenter
May 8, 1951 — February 2, 2016
William Allen Carpenter, 64, a resident of Norfolk, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Kindred Nursing and Rehab-River Pointe in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Machipongo, VA, he was the son of the late Robert L. Carpenter and the late Barbara Webb DeBow. He was raised by his grandparents, Pete and Mary Carpenter. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the 82nd Airborne and H.V.A.C. Burner Service Technician for Miller Oil Company. Mr. Carpenter was a member and Deacon at Virginia Heights Baptist Church in Norfolk and former member of Cheriton Volunteer Fire Company.
He is survived by two loving children, Chelsea Brooke Carpenter and Caleb Nottingham Carpenter, both of Chesapeake, VA; his children's mother, Shelly L. Carpenter; two special cousins, Robbie Kellam and Martha Paige Davis and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Elizabeth Carpenter; a son, W. Allen Carpenter; a brother, Bobby Carpenter and a sister, Elizabeth Carol DeRoberts.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Lower Northampton Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Conrow officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Dr., Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502 or to S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, PO Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
