William Baldwin Bynum

March 17, 1943 — June 26, 2007

William Baldwin Bynum, 64, of Nassawadox, VA died Tuesday, June 26th, at Shore Memorial Hospital. He was the son of Jacqueline Parsons Dunton, deceased, and Henry Scarborough Dunton and the husband of 27 years of Barbara H. Bynum. Bill graduated from Northampton High School in 1961 and was a VMI class of '65 graduate. He dedicated his forty-two year career to teaching, coaching, and administration at Broadwater Academy. Over the years, he molded the minds and touched the lives of many of Eastern Shore's young people. He was selected the Virginia Commonwealth Conference Football coach of the year in 1994 and again in 2000. His '94 football team was the state championship runner-up, and his 2000 team won the state championship. He was awarded a Community Builders Award by the Masons in 2002 for his significant efforts toward making the community a better place in which to live. Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara Bynum (Bobbie); his father, Henry Dunton and Henry's wife Bertha; his son, William Bynum, Jr. (Win); his step son, Edward Gladstone (Ned), Ned's wife Susan, and their daughter, Lorelei. Bill was a member of Franktown Methodist Church and a supporter of Hungars Episcopal Church. The burial will be a private, family-only service at Cape Charles. A memorial service and tribute to his life will be held at Broadwater Academy's Hall Center on Saturday, June 30th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the William B.
