Willard Reade Nicolls, Jr.

Willard Reade Nicolls, Jr., 79, husband of Charlotte Duer Nicolls and a resident of Nassawadox, VA, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA. A native of Onley, VA, he was the son of the late Willard Reade Nicolls and the late Nell Parks Nicolls. He was a retired farmer, a member of Hungars Episcopal Church and a member of the Nassawadox Town Council. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Eve Nicolls Yagel and her husband, William, of Arrington, VA, W. Reade Nicolls, III and his wife, Ann Carter, of Creek Bluff in Belle Haven, VA, Catherine Duer Stinson of Eastville, VA; two brothers, Ben G. Nicolls and his wife, Cindy, of Parksley, VA, C. Parks Nicolls and his wife, Vesta, of Onley; a sister, Vera N. McGee of Delmar, MD; six grandchildren, Frances G. Stadlin, William W. Yagel, Willard Henry Yagel, Donald W.R. Nicolls, Reade C. Nicolls and Amanda H. Windsor. He was predeceased by a son, Walter Jewell Stinson, Jr. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM at St. George's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Pungoteague, VA with Reverend Cameron Randle officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, P.O. Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501-9873.
