Warren Lee Scanlan, Sr.

July 15, 1924 — March 11, 2016

Warren Lee Scanlan, Sr., 91, husband of the late Helen Zucchero Scanlan and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at Riverside Shore Life Care in Parksley, VA. A native of New York, he was the son of the late Warren Francis Scanlan and the late Nina Bruce Scanlan. He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran, retired service manager for Exmore Coca-Cola and a Pilgrim and member of Exmore Moose Lodge #683.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia S. Schoonover and her husband, James, of Montrose, WV; a son, Michael L. Scanlan and his wife, Gloria, of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Holly McGee, Heather Scanlan, Richard Schoonover and his wife, Carrie; four great grandchildren, Tiffany Lloyd, Alexandra, Abigail and Maxwell Schoonover and one great-great grandson, Riley James Lynch. He was predeceased by a son, Warren Lee Scanlan, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
