Virginia M. Simpson

Mrs. Virginia M. Simpson, 98, wife of the late John L. Simpson and a resident of Oyster, passed away September 10, 2007. A native of Hog Island, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James T. Mitchell and the late Maggie Doughty Mitchell. She was a member of Travis Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Robert L. Simpson and his wife Phyllis of Cape Charles, Va., a grandson, Todd Simpson of Eastville, Va.; two sisters, Mary M. Parsons of Kernersville, North Carolina, Ruth M. West of Oyster, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends. She was predeceased by a brother, James W. Mitchell. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Sept 13th at 11:00 AM from the graveside of Belle Haven Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Decker officiating. Family will join friends one hour prior to the service at the Doughty Funeral Home.
