Virginia Ruth Hawk

Mrs. Virginia R. Hawk, 51, of Eastville, Virginia, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008. A native of Parksley, she was the daughter of the late Albert Umfer and the late Nellie Raye Umfer. She was formerly employed by Dr. Baczek's office in Chincoteague and Parksley. She is survived by a son, William "Billy" Merritt of Parksley, Va.; three grandchildren, Trae, Jacob, and Dalton Merritt; two sisters, Elaine U. Merritt of Eastville, Va., Brenda Porter of Birdsnest, Va.; and a brother, Ronald Umfer of Philadelphia, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Cape Charles at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Virginia R.
