Viola Bell Taylor, 89, wife of the late William R. "Bud" Taylor and a resident of Oyster, VA, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Broadwater, VA, she was the daughter of the late David Thomas Bell and the late Bettie May Mitchell Bell. She was a retired secretary for Zapata Haynie, former Girl Scout Leader, member of Order of the Eastern Star, and member of Travis Chapel United Methodist Church where she was an active leader of the youth choir.
She is survived by four children, Betty T. Collins and her husband, Tom, of Machipongo, VA, W. Ray Taylor, Jr. of Cheriton, VA, Rhoda T. Robberecht and her husband, David, of Cheriton, and Daniel T. Taylor of Cheriton; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a special friend, Wade Fitzgerald of Cheriton.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, June 10, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverend Janet C. Allen officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Travis Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 106, Cheriton, Virginia 23316.
