Vincent Duane Phillips

Vincent Duane Phillips, 61, a resident of Woodbridge, VA, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Virginia Hospital Center in Alexandria, VA. A native of Weirwood, VA, he was the son of Nellie Carpenter Phillips of Nassawadox, VA and the late Vincent D. Phillips. He was a retired editor for the Bloomberg Bureau of National Affairs, member of Toastmasters International and member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Woodbridge. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Ember Lee Davis and her husband, John, of Columbia, MO and a special loving companion of 23 years, Marion L. Goyette of Woodbridge. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 28, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore, VA. Interment will follow at Red Bank Church Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to National Alliance on Mental Illness, P.O. Box 62596, Baltimore, MD 21264-2596 or Riverside Shore Cancer Center, P.O. Box 17, Nassawadox, VA 23413. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 3:00 PM at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1400 G Street, Woodbridge, VA with Pastor Larry Craddock officiating.
