Vilette Elizabeth Travis Robins, 90, the wife of her late husband of 54 years, Reverend Chester M. Robins Jr., passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 in Greenville, NC, where she has lived the past six years. Born on May 29, 1924 at Arlington Farm, Capeville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Bryan Travis and the late Elnor Mister Travis. Vilette was raised on the Eastern Shore and graduated from Cape Charles High School. She lived all of her first 84 years in the Delmarva states. On their retirements in 1983 she and her husband returned from Richmond, VA to their hometown, Cape Charles. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church of Cape Charles. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheron Kay Crompton; two sons, James Wayne Robins and Michael Lee Robins; and two brothers, Jennings B. Travis and Edward T. Travis. She is survived by son, Chester "Crash" M. Robins III and his wife, Joyce, of Greenville, NC; daughter, Lorraine Robins Ennis of Cape Charles, VA; daughters-in law Ellen Sheeran Robins of Richmond and Rachel Harma Robins of Waxhaw, NC; brother, Robert P. Travis and his wife, Bonnie, of Salisbury, MD; brother-in-law, Grant Robins and his wife, Ida Mae, of Cape Charles and brother-in law, Lawrence Nottingham, of Cheriton, VA; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating.
