Mr. Victor Arvidson, 69, husband of Linda Thurston Arvidson and a resident of Exmore, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Butler, NJ, he was the son of the late Kenneth H. Arvidson and the late Ester Victoria Holmberg Arvidson. He was a member of Holmes Presbyterian Church. Victor moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia in 1978. Briefly employed by Bayshore Concrete Products, he left to establish Glass Boat Works in Cape Charles. The company expanded and relocated to Exmore where it is currently operated by his son Rick. Victor connected with the Eastern Shore due to his love for the outdoors and as an avid sportsman and golfer. He loved the Eastern Shore people and considered it to be his home. Other than his wife, survivors include two children, Richard Victor Arvidson and his wife Tracey of Chincoteague and Cindy L. Stauffer and her husband Thomas of Melfa; four sisters, Joan Jordon of Orlando, FL, Ester Gibian of Wayne, NJ, Myrna Babcock of Vineland, NJ, and Eleanor Haley of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren, Molly, Bowdie, Matthew, Charlotte and Victoria. A service of remembrance will be conducted Monday, March 26, 2007 at 11 AM from Holmes Presbyterian Church in Cheriton with the Rev. Ernest L. Gardner, III officiating.
