Verna Simpson Bradford

Verna Simpson Bradford, 91, wife of the late Vernon Clyde Bradford, Sr. and a resident of Wenona, MD, formerly of Exmore, VA, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. A native of Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James Alfred Simpson and the late Annie Elizabeth Hart Simpson. She was a retired shipping and receiving clerk for Gil Golde, Inc. in Exmore, a member of the Exmore V.F.W. Ladies Auxillary, and a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth A. Daniels and her husband, Stanley, of Wenona; a stepson, Rickey Bradford and his wife, Theresa, of Willis Wharf, VA; a stepdaughter, Kathy Sturgis and her husband, Todd, of Scarborough Neck, VA; a stepsister, Mervis Poulson of North Carolina; five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 sons, Vernon Clyde Bradford, Jr. and Craig Bradford. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Reverend Art Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
