Vaughn W. Mumford Jr.

Vaughn William Mumford Jr., 77, a resident of Quinby, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk, VA. A native of Chincoteague, VA, he was the son of the late Vaughn W. Mumford Sr. and the late Mary Agnes Sauls Mumford. He was a retired manager for Yellow Pages, and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and Exmore Moose Lodge #683. He is survived by two daughters, Donna Maria Mumford of Port Royal, SC, and Annette Elizabeth Mumford of Daniel Island, SC; a brother, Roland Mumford and his wife, Susan of Exmore, VA; three sisters, Mary Agnes Norris of Emerald Isle, NC, Maureen Mumford of Melbourne, FL, and Rosalind Butler of Virginia Beach, VA; two grandchildren, Ava Elizabeth Mumford of Charleston, SC, and Virginia Autumn Gantt of Asheville, NC. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Father J. Michael Breslin officiating. Interment will follow at the Quinby Cemetery, Quinby, VA. Family will join friends Thurdsay evening from 7:00 to 8:30 at the Doughty Funeral Home.
