Earnest Trent Powell, 53, a resident of Melfa, VA, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his residence. A native of Painter, VA, he was the son of the late James Lee Powell, Sr. and the late Jean Harris Powell. He was owner of Powell Plumbing and Electrical. He is survived by two children, Joshua Seth Powell of Melfa, Mikayla Denise Powell of Melfa; three brothers, his twin R. Brent Powell of Wachapreague, VA, James Lee Powell, Jr. and his wife, Ginny, of Painter, Bryan K. Powell of Melfa; a sister, Pat P. Nottingham and her husband, John Lee, of Keller, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home with Reverend Rob Kelly officiating. Interment will be private. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
