Tom Ward

Thomas Peter Ward, 82, husband of the late Dorothy Ward, and a resident of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Machipongo, VA. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he raised his family in Broad Channel, Queens, NY, and was the son of the late Thomas J. Ward and the late Charlotte Walsh Ward. He was retired from the Long Island Railroad and was happiest being at home relaxing. He loved playing cards, especially Poker, enjoyed being by the water and going out to dinner.

Tom is survived by his loving companion of over fifteen years, Mary Esposito; son, Jack Ward and his wife, Chrisianne, of NY; daughter Dorothy Morgan and her husband Donald, of NY; daughter-in-law, Rose Ward of NY; grandchildren Nicole, Christina, Joseph, Kayla, Jack and Emma; great-grandson Declan; and sister-in-law Carol Ward. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas Ward; grandsons, Shamus and James; and eight brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted, Monday, August 30, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Fr. J. Michael Breslin officiating.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
