Thomas Jerome Maroney, Jr.

Mr. Thomas Jerome Maroney, Jr., 74, husband of Lois Murdock Maroney and a resident of Cheriton, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Brandon, Vermont, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Maroney, Sr. and the late Vivian Anderson Maroney. He was a retired Master Sergeant for the United States Air Force and a Flight Engineer on U. S. Air Force One during the Administrations of Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon. After retirement, but certainly not retired, Tom and his wife returned to the shore becoming active in business, civic and social affairs of Cape Charles and Northampton County. He attended Cheriton United Methodist Church. Other than his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas J. Maroney, III of Richmond, Va.; and a brother, John Maroney and his wife Phyllis of San Jose, Ca. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 11:00 AM from Cheriton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nathan Decker officiating. Interment will be private in the Cape Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shore Cancer Center, P.O.
