Surry Elliott Bell

Surry Elliott Bell, better known as Rusty, 76, husband of Beverly Barbara Bell and a resident of Birdsnest, Va, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Heritage Hall Healthcare. A native of Cape Charles, he was the son of the late Hilton Bell and the late Naomi Elliott Bell. He was a retired postmaster of Birdsnest Post Office, Chief in the U.S. Coast Guard, and a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. Other than his wife, Mr. Bell is survived by three children, Beverly B. Jimenez and her husband, Robert of Cashville, VA, John Bell and his wife Jeanette of Onley, VA, and Quinton Bell of Onley, VA; a sister, Iris Bell Brooks of Denton, MD, six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Mr. Bell was predeceased by a son, Harry Fred Bell and a sister, Theda Manning. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted Friday, January 18, 2008, at 1:00 PM in Cape Charles Cemetery with Dr. Howard E. Brooks, Jr. officiating.
