Sue Genene Walker

Sue Genene Walker, 78, wife of Alvin L. Walker and a resident of Concord Wharf, VA, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at her residence. A native of Southern Pines, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred C. Hall and the late Alice Sheppard Hall. Mrs. Walker was a volunteer at Shore Memorial Hospital for 35 years, and an avid volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the health fairs held on the Eastern Shore. Other than her husband, she is survived by three children, Laura Crawford of Clifton Forge, VA, Leesa Walker of Cedarview, VA, and Terry Walker of Wardtown, VA; a sister, Clara Hutchinson of Oregon, four grandchildren, David Lee Parks, USN, Monte Lynn Crawford, of Covington, VA, Lee Walker, of Cheriton, VA, and Tyler Crawford, of Covington; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 19, 2008, at 2:00 PM from the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with the Rev. Patricia Kellam officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, P. O. Box 316, Parksley, VA 23421.
