Sue Robins Nottingham

February 23, 1924 — July 6, 2006

Sue Robins Holloman Nottingham, 82, a resident of Cheriton, Va., passed away at her home on July 6, 2006. Born on February, 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Chester M. and Pearl W. Robins. She was previously married to Lt. Robert S. Holloman, U.S. Army, who was killed in action during World War II. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lawrence M. Nottingham, a daughter, Suzanne Holloman Rayne, and her husband James of Salisbury, Md., three granddaughters, Shelley Rayne Hogg, Susie Rayne Thomas, both of Salisbury, Md., and Stephanie Gallaher, of Florida, a grandson, Lawrence Nottingham, II and wife Marijana of Cape Charles, three great grandchildren, a brother, Grant Robins and his wife Ida Mae of Cape Charles, Va., three sisters in-law, Vilette T. Robins, Jennie Cotton, and Marianna Dabson, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robin Nottingham, a sister, Elaine R. Hummel, and a brother, Rev. Chester M. Robins, Jr. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was once an active member and held office with the United Methodist Women. After 28 years of service, she retired as head teller from Sovran Bank, Cape Charles. Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, July 9th at 2:00 p.m. from the graveside of Cape Charles Cemetery with the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt officiating.
