Stephen Trader Elliott Sr., 64, husband of the late Debra Lynn Elliott, and a resident of Franktown, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Painter, VA. A native of Franktown, he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison Elliott Jr. and the late Virginia Christine Butler Elliott. A 1964 graduate of Northampton High School, he was the Chief of Police for the Exmore Police Dept., having served for 29 years, and President of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member of Franktown United Methodist Church, chairman of the Troy Ashe Committee, board member of the Criminal Justice Training Academy. He was an avid athlete and owner and trainer for the Virginia Racing Commission. He is survived by his children, Angelo Dimartino of Wachapreague, Stephen Trader Elliott Jr. of San Jose, CA, and Ann Elliott of Pleasanton, CA; two brothers, James Elliott and his wife Amy of Cheriton, Benjamin Harrison Elliott III of Tampa, FL; a sister, Melinda Elliott of Nassawadox; four grandchildren, Cody and Paige Dimartino, Chloe Smith, Corbin Ellson; nephews, Benjamin Harrison Elliott IV, David Elliott, Fred Gardner Jr.; nieces, McKenzie Gardner, Virginia Elliott Alexander. He was predeceased by a brother, John Carter Elliott. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 18th, at 2:00 PM at the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Rev.
