Silas Raymond Cappel
July 7, 1938 — May 28, 2019
Silas Raymond Cappel, 80, husband of the late Nellie Maria Cappel and a resident of Davis Wharf, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA. A native of New York, he was the son of the late Richard L. Cappel and the late Rosalie Prince Cappel. He was a retired waterman and Northampton County Public Schools bus driver.
He is survived by three sons, David R. Cappel of Rocky Mount, NC, Daniel Cappel of Davis Wharf, Robert Cappel of Davis Wharf; a brother, Herbert Roy Cappel and his wife, Vivian, of Poolesville, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, June 23, 2019, at 4:00 PM at Pungoteague Community Church with Reverend Bobby Carroll Huether officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doughty Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
