Samuel E. Lambertson

Samuel Eason Lambertson, 94, of Cape Charles, Virginia, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. Born November 20, 1914 in Cape Charles, Virginia, he was the son of the late William Eason and Leonis Elizabeth Collins Lambertson of Cape Charles, Virginia. He was the oldest living member of the Salisbury, Maryland Elks Club. While living in Salisbury between 1944 - 1953, he managed the R.C. Cola Bottling Company. He returned to Cape Charles to work with his father at Peninsula Motors, a Ford dealership, until his retirement. He also worked as needed as parts manager for Pomoco Ford who purchased his business when he retired. He was preceded in death by his first wife Katherine Wendell Lambertson and his second wife Doris Savage Lambertson, his sister Sadie Lambertson Pusey of Cape Charles, and a son Robert Eason Lambertson of Belle Haven, Virginia. He is survived by his daughter Katherine Leonis Holloway, who cared for her father in his home for the last three months, along with her friend Willam F. Fitzgerald of Salisbury, Md, granddaughter Katherine (Kaye) Leonis Holloway of Salisbury, grandsons Robert Eason Lambertson of Cape Charles, and Ronald Calvin Holloway II of Salisbury, his wife Christine Lisa Holloway, and their children Christine Lauren Holloway and Ronald Calvin Holloway III. He is also survived by his step-children Linda Glasson of Williamsburg, Va., and Robert Glasson of Richmond, Va., and close family friend Bonnie Lowen of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by his Aunt Katie Lambertson Collins, age 104, her daughter Jean Collins, both of Cape Charles and his sister Gloria Lambertson Brown Santacrose of Onancock, Va., and his four legged friend, Holly. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cape Charles Cemetery with Father J. Michael Breslin officiating. Family will join friends at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home Saturday from 12 until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, Va. 23417 or to St. Charles Catholic Church, 545 Randolph Ave., Cape Charles, Va. 23310.
