Samuel Gates Clayton, Jr.

Mr. Samuel Gates Clayton, Jr., 55, of Exmore, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Exmore, he was the son of the late Samuel Gates Clayton, Sr. and the late Shirley Jester Clayton. He was a self employed mechanic. He is survived by three children, Julie C. Mathews and her husband Bruce of Keller, Va., Allison Craven of Tangier, Va., Ben Clayton of Eastville, Va.; a brother, Bruce Clayton of Onley, Va., and a devoted friend, Greg Huffman. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca Wheatley. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 23rd at 2:00 PM from the graveside of Belle Haven Cemetery with Mr. Tommy Kellam officiating. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home Thursday from 10 to 12 Noon.
