Ruth Smith

Ruth Spady Smith, "Nana", 92, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023, peacefully in her home, surrounded by family. A native of the Eastern Shore, she was the daughter of the late William and Maude Spady. She retired from the college as a registered nurse and took the role as full time nana.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan Olgers of Richmond; two granddaughters, Jennifer Marie Olgers-Holzknecht (Sabrina) and Jessica Carole Olgers, both of Richmond; and a soon to be born great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore, VA, with Rev. Dr. John M. Robertson officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery.
