Ruth Mancuso Christopher passed away peacefully on December 6, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Virginia Beach, VA at the age of 92 surrounded by family.
Ruth was born on May 28, 1923 in Parsonsburg, Maryland to Jennie Warren Rohm and Alfred "Dick" Winfred Rohm. She graduated from Wicomico High School and following various interests, retired as an Administrative Assistant for the State of Maryland. She was married to Joseph Mancuso for 35 years. They had 5 wonderful children. Ruth was widowed in 1977 and re-married in 1980 to Joseph Christopher. He brought 3 step-children to the union.
Ruth was a lovely woman who was kind, patient and strong, and was adored dearly by her family and friends. She enjoyed raising her children and found pleasure in animals, traveling, fishing, and boating, surrounded by her family and grandchildren. In her retirement, she and Joe Christopher spent their summers in Chincoteague, Virginia. Her warm company was enjoyed by all.
Ruth Christopher is survived by four children: Joe Mancuso and spouse Leslie Long of Arlington, Virginia; Roseanne Richardson and spouse Jim Richardson of Salisbury, Maryland; Tony Mancuso and spouse Joanne Mancuso of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mary Kay English of Virginia Beach; her grandchildren Neil, Jennie, Jimmy, Matthew, Mark, Melanie, Emily, Mary Rose, Mitra and Layla; 10 great-grandchildren (and counting), sister-in-law Ethel Rohm, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, her siblings Yetive Aydelotte, Bertha Mae Aydelotte, Nancy Powell, and Richard Rohm, her daughter Jennie Mancuso, and her son-in-law John English.
A memorial will be held for Ruth on Saturday December 12th, 2015 at Holloway Funeral Home. The service will be held at 10:30am. Visitation to call on the family will be 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Wicomico County in her memory.
