Ruth Morrow Bowen

Ruth Morrow Bowen, 75, wife of Norris R. Bowen and a resident of Birdsnest, VA, passed away Saturday, August 06, 2016 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Arthur Day and the late Ella Morrow Day. She was a retired insurance agent for American General Insurance Company.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by a daughter, Susan Bowen Brofford and her husband, Kevin, of New Milford, CT; a daughter-in-law, Denise Clayton of Exmore, VA; a sister, Barbara Colgan of Baltimore and four grandchildren, Zachary Clayton Bowen, Kelsey Brofford, Claire Brofford and Evan Brofford. She was predeceased by her son, Norris Ray Bowen, Jr.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday, August 8, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Tammy Estep officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, P. O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418 or to the Barrier Island Center, P. O. Box 206, Machipongo, VA 23405.
