Russell Spencer Custis, Sr.
April 28, 1935 — January 15, 2016
Russell Spencer Custis, Sr., 80, husband of Doris Mae Campbell Custis and a resident of Craddockville, VA, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at his residence. A native of Craddockville, he was the son of the late Elvin R. Custis, Sr. and the late Charlotte Elmore Custis. He was a retired farmer, member of Craddockville United Methodist Church, Pungoteague Ruritan Club, Past Governor and member of Exmore Moose Lodge #683, member of the Legion of the Moose and received the Loyal Order of the Moose Fellowship Degree.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three children, Pamela C. Stone and her husband, Tommy, of Hilliard, OH, Lynn C. Schwendeman and her husband, Artie, of Melfa, VA, Russ S. Custis and his wife, Angie, of Craddockville; a sister, Sue C. Lewis and her husband, Jimmy, of Orange, VA; three grandchildren, Joey Schwendeman of Melfa, Tracy Schwendeman of Melfa, Heather Custis of Craddockville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Elvin R. Custis, Jr.
A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Reverend Rob Kelly officiating. Family will join friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 7 to 8:30.
