Rudolph Lee Carpenter, Jr.

Rudolph Lee Carpenter, Jr., 63, husband of Lula Cowling Carpenter and a resident of Springfield, Virginia, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006 at his residence. A native of Nassawadox, VA, he was the son of the late Rudolph L. Carpenter, Sr. and the late Grace Doland Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter was a retired Captain of the United States Coast Guard. Other than his wife, he is survived by two sons, James D. Carpenter and his wife Amy and Mason Lee Carpenter and his wife Kathy; a sister, Marie Carpenter Melson and three grandchildren, Molly, Allison and Maddie. Mr. Carpenter was predeceased by a brother, Arnold B. Carpenter. A funeral service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Burke, Va. Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be conducted Friday July 28, 2006 at 11:00 am from Red Bank Cemetery, Marionville, Va.
