Ruby Voyles Mears

Ruby Voyles Mears, 89, wife of the late Leroy "Jack" Mears and the late John Voyles and a resident of Melfa, passed away at her residence Tuesday, January 26, 2010. A native of Quinby, she was the daughter of the late Moody W. and Margaret Powell Fluhart. She was a member of the Bloxom Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by eight daughters, Ethel M. Shuster of Melfa, Va., Joyce Meeker Saunders of Melfa, formerly of Bristol, Va., Irene Padilla and her husband Felix of Parksley, Va., Hazel Smack and her husband Tommy of Parksley, Pauline Belote Simpson and her husband Donald of Exmore, Va., Shirley Anderson and her husband Wayne of Melfa, Ruby G. Setaro of Eastville, Va., Margaret Isabella and her husband Jack of Painesville, Oh.; a son, John Voyles, Jr. of Melfa; two sisters; Viola F. Warren of Quinby, and Edna F. Williams of Dover, DE; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two children, John Voyles and Irene Voyles. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with the Pastor Wayne Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00. Flowers will be accepted.
