Roy William Dixon

The memories everyone has of Roy William Dixon will live on in the stories and pictures everyone loves to share. Being a family man was his priority. Roy was born on April 18, 1928 in Lowes Grove, North Carolina. He went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2012, peacefully, in his home. Bunky, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, lived in Butlers Bluff on Virginia's Eastern Shore which he was proud to have developed. His beloved wife, Joyce, and he lived there for the past 20 years. To cherish his memory he leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Joyce; two children, Ann Curling and Timothy Dixon; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; six siblings; and an array of nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by a sister; his son, Roy Dixon, Jr., and his daughter, Sidney Basnight. A memorial will be held at Lower Northampton Baptist Church on Lankford Highway on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
