Rose Parks Arvay

April 8, 1916 — January 18, 2006

Rose Marie Parks Arvay, 89, wife of the late Joseph M. Arvay and a former resident of Exmore passed away Wednesday January 18, 2006 at Cumming Nursing Center, Cumming, Ga. A native of Tangier, Va., she was the daughter of the late John Ross Parks and the late Lottie Crockett Parks. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. Survivors include six children; Pauline Osterberg of Greenville, Tn., James Lee Lawson of Chesterfield, Va., Butch Harold Lawson of Atlanta, Ga., Theresa Alvaraz of Rehobeth, De., Jay Parks of San Francisco, Ca. and Michael Arvay of Everette, Wa., 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday January 22, 2006 from Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore with the Rev. Michael Muender and Mr. Kemmie Dize officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 7:00 to 8:30. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Arvay may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, P.O. Box 316, Parksley, Va. 23421 Arrangements made by Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore.
