Rosa Burrus

Rosa Raquel Burrus, 65, loving wife of James Burrus and a resident of Exmore, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Puerto Rico. Mama loved spending time in her kitchen cooking for everyone! She was also very talented in knitting. Rosa loved to be outside in the sunshine planting her garden of vegetables and flowers. Her main joy in life was her grandchildren, spending time with them, traveling with them and mostly watching the smiles on their faces. In addition to her loving husband, Rosa is survived by her beautiful daughter, Elena Torres Cintron and her husband, Juan Andrade, of Willis Wharf, VA; three handsome sons, Alberto Torres and his wife, Mariana, of Belle Haven, VA, Victor Torres and his wife, Bobbie Jo, of Delmar, DE, Angel Bodden and his wife, Veronica, of Florida; many other brothers and sisters; and eight wonderful grandchildren, Carmen, Jose, Juan Jr., Bryan, Sergio, Joel, Victoria and C.J. A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Father J. Michael Breslin officiating. Family will join friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
