Ronald C. Parks, 77, of Mears VA, departed his life on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, to join the love of his life, Betty June Parks. Born January 14, 1940, and reared in Harborton, VA, he was the son of the late Chance Parks and the late Audrey G. Walker. He served in the United States Army, was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and retired from Holly Farms due to health issues. Ronald enjoyed reading his bible and American History books, listening to music, and above all visits from his grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted son, Guy D. Parks; special daughter in law, Zina Parks; sister, Bonnie S. James; three grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah and Dominic; two nieces; and numerous cousins and extended family. In addition to his parents and loving wife, he was predeceased by a son, Ronald Parks; a daughter, Penny Parks; maternal grandparents, Lola and Stanley Guy; and paternal grandparents, Berlie and Henry Parks.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 1:00 PM, at Wessells Cemetery with Reverend John Gillespie officiating. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, P. O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418.
