Roger E. Merritt

Roger Ernest Merritt, 62, husband of Marilyn Johnson Merritt and a resident of Belle Haven passed away Saturday June 18, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Merritt, a native of Eastville, was the son of the late G. Cleveland Merritt and the late Flora Morre Merritt. He was a U.S. Marine veteran. Other than his wife, Mr. Merritt is survived by a daughter, Michelle A. Gulledge of Newport News, Va., two brothers; Norman and Jimmy Merritt; one aunt, Margaret Moore Morgan of Eastville, Va. and two grandchildren, Jena Lee Gulledge and Evan Marshall Gulledge, both of Newport News, Va. No services are planned. Arrangements made by Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore, Va.
