Robert William Storherr

December 31, 1921 — November 27, 2007

Robert William (tall Bob) Storherr of Willis Wharf, VA passed away Tuesday morning, November 27, 2007. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra M. (Sandy) Storherr and three furry children, Toby, Tuffy, and Torrie. He is predeceased by his parents, Violet and Samuel Storherr of Springfield, MA, beloved sister Genevieve, first wife Carolyn and beloved son Richard. He was an alumnus of American International College in Springfield, and the University of Maryland College Park Campus with a PhD in research chemistry, and was a WWII Battle of the Bulge Army Veteran of the 137th Infantry, 35th Division Company D. He retired from the FDA in Washington, D. C. as a research chemist after forty years trying to save the world from asbestos poisoning. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus #6963, a Legion member of the Exmore Moose Lodge #683, a charter member of the WWII Memorial, and a fond member of Emmaus walk #24, Light the Fire. He was a dedicated Salvation Army Bell Ringer for the last seven years and a five year volunteer at Shore Memorial Hospital. Bob was an avid animal lover and helping friend. This man was greatly loved by everyone, man or beast, and will be greatly missed. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the St. Peters Catholic Church in Onley with Father Rodrigo Mingollo and Father J. Michael Breslin officiating. Family will join friends at St. Peters Catholic Church one hour prior. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northampton County Salvation Army, c/o Ed Stetar, P. O. Box 1274, Exmore, VA 23350 or to St. Peters Catholic Church Building Fund, P. O.
