Robert C. Van Nest, III

Robert Charles Van Nest, III, 90, husband of the late Mary Ellen Smith Van Nest and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at his residence. A native of Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert C. Van Nest, II and the late Frances Giaiamo Van Nest. He was a retired tool and die maker, a U. S. Army WWII veteran, Past Exalter Ruler and State Vice-President of NY Association of Elks.

He is survived by three sons, Robert C. Van Nest, IV and his wife, Joyce, of Milford, PA, Frank J. Van Nest of Davenport, FL, Richard F. Van Nest of Exmore; two grandchildren, Tina Lynn Chance of Lotz, FL, Ashley Kleckley of Ridgeland, SC; four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Sabrina, Hudson, Emily Elizabeth; a niece, Carrie Simpson and a great-nephew, Anthony Simpson, both of Monticello, NY; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Rev. James W. Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
