Robert T. "Bob" Long

Robert T. "Bob" Long, 76, husband of Susan F. Long and a resident of Wachapreague, VA, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Willis Wharf, VA, he was the son of the late Edwin Earl Long and the late Beulah Lee Thomas Long. He retired from NASA as a project director, was a member of Powelton Presbyterian Church, the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge #683, and past member of the Town Council of Wachapreague. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Somers Long of Willis Wharf, VA, Autumn Melson of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Robin Barbour of Virginia Beach , VA, and Clare T. Long of Wachapreague; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Powelton Presbyterian Church in Wachapreague with Reverend James William Moore officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the Island House Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, VA 23417 or to a charity of your choice.
