Exmore, VA 23350
Robert M. Killmon, 85, husband of Levilla Jane Webb Killmon and a resident of Pungoteague, VA, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Harborton, VA, he was the son of the late Joseph Monroe Killmon and the late Myrtle Virginia Jenkins Killmon. He was a retired supervisor for C & P Telephone Company/Bell Atlantic. He was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church, treasurer of Evergreen Pavilion Fund, member of Evergreen United Methodist Men's Club, Capeville Masonic Lodge No.107, Eastern Shore Royal Arch Chapter No.12, Chesapeake Commandery No. 28,Virginia Research Royal Arch Chapter No. 1753, Commonwealth York Rite College No. 50, Hartley Carmichael Council No. 3, Garden of Gethsemane No. 2 HRAKTP, Rose of Sharon Priory No. 2, King Darius Council No. 17 Knight Mason, Virginia College S.R.I.C.F., Edward S. White Council No. 316 A.M.D.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, survivors include three children, Robert M. Killmon, Jr. and his wife, Laurie Lester Killmon, of Weyers Cave, VA, Christopher T. Killmon of Smithfield, NC, Nathan D. Killmon and his wife, Kimberly D. Lowery Killmon of Belle Haven, VA; 4 grandchildren, Davian E. Gale and husband, Mike, Erin M. Miller and husband, Todd, Jonathan M. Killmon, and Joshua A. Killmon; four great grandchildren, Tyler B. Miller, Alexis M. Miller, Maddux E. Gale, and Hudson M. Gale; four sisters, Helen K. Smith of Pungoteague, Carolyn K. Ward and husband, Burleigh, of Nassawadox, VA, Catherine K. Farlow and husband, David, of Quinby, VA, Charlotte K. Watkinson and husband, Kenneth, of Onancock, VA;a sister-in-law, Betty S. Killmon of Pungoteague; and many nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James Monroe "Poncho" Killmon.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb.4, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Evergreen United Methodist Church with Pastor Barbara L. Parker officiating. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 at the Doughty Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Evergreen United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Cindy Custis, P. O. Box 155, Pungoteague, VA 23422.
