Robert Haynie

Robert W. Haynie, 88, husband of the late Margaret Custis Haynie, a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017. A native of Harborton, VA, he was the son of the late John Cockrell Haynie and the late Lydia Brown Haynie. Bob retired from C & P Telephone Company after 42 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed countless hours with Margaret, his wife of 55 years, on the Chesapeake Bay.

He is survived by his daughter, Terry West and her husband, Roger S. West III (Buddy), of Virginia Beach, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.

To honor his request, there will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite #102, Norfolk, VA 23502, honoring the remarkable effort and love Bob gave to his wife Margaret.
