Robert A. Brade

April 25, 1943 — August 12, 2008

Robert Allen Brade, 65, husband of Marcia G. Brade and a resident of Quinby, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at his residence. A native of Garner, Iowa, he was the son of the late Jack and Bertha Walton Brade. Mr. Brade was a retired U.S. Army Master Sgt. Thirteen years of his Army career he served at the White House Communications Agency, serving under Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan. Mr. Brade was a member of Smith's Chapel United Methodist Church, member and treasurer of Little Pungo Ruritan Club and, member of Believer's Singing Quartet. Other than his wife, he is survived by three sons, Todd A. Brade of Downingtown, PA, Neal R. Brade and his wife Andrea of Front Royal, VA, and Marc C. Brade of Gainesville, VA; a brother, Donald Brade and his wife Eunice of Charlotte, NC, and four grandchildren, Colleen, Owen, Keegan and Laurel. Mr. Brade was predeceased by a daughter in-law, Marguerite Brade. A service of remembrance will be conducted Saturday August 16, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Smith's Chapel United Methodist Church, Quinby, VA with Pastor Thomas E. Durrance officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smith's Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Gwen Blake, 5046 Seaside Road, Exmore, Va. 23350 or Hospice of the Eastern Shore, Post Office Box 316, Parksley, VA 23421.
