Rita Maria Hopkins

May 10, 1930 — January 19, 2014

Rita Maria Bielicki Hopkins, 83, wife of the late James Harper Hopkins and a resident of Cheriton, VA, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. A native of Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry Francis Bielicki and the late Julianna Lucy Pilarski Bielicki. She is survived by six children, Julita Wood and her husband, Ray, Walter Hopkins and his wife, Lou, Scott Hopkins, Anita Aylesworth and her husband, Larue, James B. Hopkins, Susanna Wooten and her husband, Craig; 11 grandchildren, Carrie Kulick and her husband, Steve, Patricia Bell and her husband, Jay, Joshua Hopkins, Rebecca Hopkins, Adrienne Hopkins, Lyle Hopkins, Shelby Aylesworth, Kristin Young and her husband, Brad, Chelsea Cantrell, Dawnalee Wooten, William Wooten; five great grandchildren, Matthew Boggs and his wife, Shannon, Masen Bell, Marissa Bell, Hanna Watson, Evan Young and a sister-in-law, Gail Bielicki. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Michael Bielicki; a granddaughter, Rita Stockton and daughters-in-law, Cheryl Hopkins and Cynthia Hopkins. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Family will join friends Wednesday evening at Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market Street, Suite #3, Onancock, VA 23417.
