Rita Boulter

Rita Carol Jones Boulter, 79, wife of Joseph Albert Boulter and a resident of Wachapreague, VA, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA, surrounded by her loved ones. A native of Chincoteague, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Quillen Jones and the late Bernice Broadwater Jones.

Rita’s greatest passion in life was her family. She beamed with pride when discussing her children or grandchildren and was always ready for a family dinner and game nights with her grandchildren and “adopted” grandchildren. No words can express the depths to which she will be missed.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by two daughters, Shelly Jo Boulter of Locustville, VA, and Jenae Carol Boulter Sayers and husband, William, of Exmore, VA; four grandchildren, Travis Renas (Joi), Colin Renas (Laura Fuentes), Guy Sayers, and Isabella Sayers; one great-granddaughter, Vanessa; a brother, Larry Jones and his wife, Donna, of Chincoteague, VA; a brother-in-law, David Dingus of Chincoteague, VA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Kaye Jones Dingus.

A celebration of life service is being planned for June.
