Whenever we reminisce, Everyone you touched can't help but smile, Your laughter was contagious, and Oh, how those eyes could grin! Very deeply you cared-to each and every person that is apparent. Everything you did humbly, expecting nothing in return. You left no doubt in our hearts, Of how very much you loved us all-as we look, Upward to Heaven - we know there you'll be. Precious memories of you, we will forever hold so dear Of the laughter, love an grace that Passed through here By Rose A. Gardiner Richard T. Brickhouse When we talk about the one so dear, so treasured in our hearts, It may be hard for those listening on because of the many ways our story starts. If you listen to his wife and she tells of when in-love they were a-fallin', No doubt, this is certain His name in that account will be "My Darlin'" But listen in as his daughter recounts it, the heritage of his fatherly devotion. "Pop", a simple all-encompassing title will be used with the utmost loyalty and tender emotion. Yet come and linger at the side of two granddaughters as they recount, their childhood memories still so vivid of their "Pop-Pop", their absolute king of the mount. Pass through the crowds as we celebrate his life and surely his names will be many. Our scripture assures,"When you're content to simply serve, your life will count for plenty." His life, his humor, his love, we remember today and will never ever forget. Our "Ikie", "Little Rich", "Darlin'", and "Pop"- How we will get along without you, we know not yet. But you sure had us all in stitches and your expressions were one of a kind! So pass through these crowds, your spirit softly, and keep this in mind. So much of our heartsongs we owe to you. Your love has riveted us to this spot. Go, have a ball in Heaven, as an old soldier should, for, surely, the good battle you fought. By Mary Autumn Rush Granddaughter
