Richard Edward Belote

Richard Edward Belote, 76, husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Morris Belote, a resident of Onancock, VA, formerly of Quinby, VA, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Quinby, he was the son of the late William Lee Belote and the late Marion Lee Clark Belote. He was a retired mechanic for Perdue Foods. His love was watching car racing and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by seven children, Tommy Lee Fitchett, Jr. of Parksley, VA, Rosemary Fitchett of Delaware, John W. Fitchett and his wife, Sandra, of Parksley, James Edward Fitchett and his wife, Maryann, of Quinby, Susie Fitchett of South Carolina, Terri Fisher and her fiancé, Bobby Shrieves, of Painter, VA, and Tina Belote of Virginia Beach, VA; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday, August 7, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Wachapreague Cemetery with Reverend Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Family will join friends at Doughty Funeral Home Monday morning from 10:00 AM to noon. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
