Reverend Louis Alvin Timmons, 71, husband of Sylvia Faye Morse Timmons and a resident of Exmore, VA passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA. A native of Dagsboro, DE, he was the son of the late Louis John Timmons and the late Evelyn Daisey Timmons Simpson and the late Edward Simpson. Reverend Timmons was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran, a Shop Steward for the Teamsters Union, a graduate of Virginia Wesleyan College, a graduate of Wesley Seminary, a retired United Methodist Minister serving churches throughout states of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia since 1976 and served as co-director of Casa Esperranza in Wachapreague, VA. He enjoyed fishing , crabbing, and camping. In addition to his wife and best friend, Sylvia, he is survived by two sons, Eric Timmons of Winchester, VA, Edward Timmons and his wife, Terri, of Winchester; one brother, John Robert Timmons of Brazil and one grandson, Jakob Shoe of Winchester. A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 30053 Seaside Road, Melfa, VA with Reverend Sandra Benson officiating.
