Raymond Salopek

Raymond Salopek, 72, husband of Sandra Friez Salopek and a resident of Bay Creek, Cape Charles, VA, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. A native of Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Matthew Salopek and the late Mildred Vokel Salopek. Mr. Salopek was a retired Captain of the United States Navy, member of the American Legion Post #56 and of the Virginia Beach Masonic Lodge # 274 AF&AM. In addition to his wife, he is survived by, two daughters, Nadine M. Malpase and her husband, Stuart, of Charlotte, NC, Noelle M. Lawrence and her husband, Peter, of Bay Creek and one granddaughter, Margaret Ann Malpass of Richmond, VA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
