Ralph Edward Brady

Ralph E. Brady departed this life peacefully on September 22, 2019, at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. He was born September 10, 1948, in Oyster, VA, to the late Ralph Brady and the late Della Mae Tull Brady. He grew up in Northampton County where he spent years working the waters of the Chesapeake Bay with his Daddy, whom he admired. Ralph, who was also called Buddy and RE by his loved ones, had a happy and sweet personality that drew people to him. He was a great sports fan and enjoyed sitting around watching football, baseball and NASCAR racing, as well as his favorite westerns. When he wasn’t watching TV he relaxed playing solitaire while sipping on his beloved mist.

Ralph leaves to cherish his memory four children, Eddie (Tara) Brady, Bonnie (Robert) Brady, Darius Weeks of Marion, IN, and Ronnie (Shanda) Brady of Nassawadox; three sisters, Ann (Roy) Johnson of Nassawadox, Dina Brady Martinez of Exmore, VA, and Terry Lynn Kessell of Darian, GA; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a very special friend, Tracy Joynes. He was predeceased by three wives, Darlene, Faye, and Pauline; his beloved partner of 28 years, Catherine Moore; sister, Malinda Brady Echols; two brothers, Steve Brady and James Bradshaw; and granddaughter, Miranda Merritt.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude and thanks to those who have shown their support during this time of loss. A special thanks to the professional and caring staff at Heritage Hall Healthcare and Riverside Shore Hospice.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with Reverend Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Capeville Masonic Cemetery. Family will join friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be in Ralph’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
