Preston Wise Davis, better known as "Pete", husband of Nancy Windsor Davis and a lifetime resident of Davis Wharf, Virginia, died Thursday, April 08, 2010 at the age of 78. Born on Glebe Farm on November 26, 1931 to Forrest M. and Edna Wise Davis. He was a member of Craddockville United Methodist Church and President of the United Methodist Men's Club, a member of the Pungoteague Ruritan Club, Former Director of the Eastern Shore Soil and Water Conservation Committee, former Chairman of Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Committee, member of the National Association Soil and Water Conservation District Shoreline Erosion Committee, Past President of Virginia Association Soil and Water Conservation District. Mr. Davis was a farmer and President of Davis Disposal Inc. Other than his wife, he is survived by two sons, John William Davis of Davis Wharf, Va., Michael Davis of Craddockville, Va.; two grandchildren, Zachary and Ann Windsor Davis of Craddockville, Va. Mr. Davis was predeceased by two sisters, Charlotte A. Davis and Anna Lou Bundick; three brothers, Forrest M. Davis, Jr., Henry J. Davis, and William C. Davis. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Davis Family Cemetery in Davis Wharf. The Rev. Kenneth T. Armstrong and the Rev. Scott E. Davis will officiate.
