Philip Michael Badger

Mr. Philip Michael Badger, 54, of Birdsnest, Va., passed away Friday, May 30, 2008 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. A native of Birdsnest, he was the son of the late Daniel J. Badger and the late Grace Downing Badger. He was a Deputy Sheriff for the Northampton County Sheriff's Department. Phil was a animal lover and friend to mankind. Mr. Badger is survived by his two cats, "ChaChi" (AKA "Tuxedo Cat") and "Baby Pea," his two sisters, Marilyn B. "Marcy" Buchan of Black Mountain, N.C., Jo Ann B. Huey and her husband Randy of Oakley, CA., a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Badger of Jacksonville, Fla., 8 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews, and his extended family throughout the shore. He was predeceased by a brother, Daniel D. Badger, Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the Doughty Funeral Home in Exmore with the Rev. Clarence Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Bank Cemetery. Family will join friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Doughty Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 164, Onley, Va. 23418. A reception will be held following the service at the home of C.
